“…It is a mix of things pulled out of failsafe books. Firstly the cake is from the failsafe cookbook (pg. 241) Melt and Mix Coffee Cake. The recipe uses a bar cake so I made 2 round ones doubling the recipe .Then I put pear jam in between the two. I also used the icing that goes with this recipe.  The day before I made the honeycomb and meringue from the Friendly Food book from RPAH Allergy Unit (pgs 159 & 221) because I was short of time on the day. Then you could probably colour the meringue or icing with things like saffron I suppose and use different coloured ribbon and candles.”

“Marshmallow cake using a teddy bear mould and the recipe in Friendly Food.

Sprinkled with pure icing sugar.

Carob icing for the eyes, nose and mouth.

Crushed rice bubbles for the tummy, paws, ears and face.

Plus 1 blue ribbon and a silver cake board.”
