“Okay, I am under no illusions…. this is not much chop and people out there have done a HELL of a lot better than I have. But hey… it’s my blog. Whatcha gonna do? ha ha! To get a better cake picture…. return to Google!!
I used Domestic Diva’s thermomix recipe for Marshmallow Fondant. I have never worked with fondant before and the only tip I can give is that if you’re going to do a solid colour like RED!!! then it’s going to take a lot of drops of colour…. and this is going to make your fondant icing sticky and floppy. So, keep some extra sugar aside to make it ‘harder’ again if that’s what happens. To get the basic idea, I just made a huge, square butter cake and the shaped the rolled-out fondant by knife, once it was on the cake. I had terrible trouble with it sticking to the bench and coming apart.. so that’s why I ended up doing the trimming of the icing ON the cake. I reckon this would be easy if you have 1. experience with fondant and 2. patience.”
